Dalnoid Holiday Cottages are situated in a stunning location on the hillside above the Shee Water in Glenshee, Perthshire. Surrounded by mountains, hills, forests and moorland, across the Glen from the distinctive Mount Blair, the holiday cottages are in the perfect location to explore the magnificent countryside including Royal Deeside, Pitlochry, Highland Perthshire, the Angus Glens and further afield to St Andrews - the Home of Golf!
The A93, “The Royal Road” passes by Dalnoid, connecting Scotland’s Berry Capital – Blairgowrie with Royal Deeside. The scenery of the lower glen is very much associated with hill farming and throughout the year you will see sheep and cattle dotted over the hillsides. In the summer the hillsides take a purple hue as the heather comes into flower, attracting the bees – you will be able to find local heather honey for sale in the village shops at nearby Bridge of Cally, and at Kirkmichael. This is also the ideal time to try your hand at catching the King of Fish – a Scottish wild salmon in the Shee Water. In late summer the area is popular for field sports.
Throughout the area there is an extensive network of footpaths, old drove roads and forest tracks ideal for walking or cycling – check out the books and maps in each cottage for ideas. Dalnoid Holiday Cottages are located at the centre of the Cateran Trail, a 64 mile circular route around Glenshee and East Perthshire.
Dalnoid Holiday Cottages are surrounded by their own gardens with access to a further 6 acres of grounds and a large pond (fenced) where you can take in the lovely views to be seen in every direction as well as spotting some of the local wildlife.
