As you step inside the open plan living area you will be struck by the light and spacious accommodation, within the living room area - you can laze on comfy sofas looking out through the large patio doors and windows onto some of the finest scenery in the area.
Take in the view across the Glen, including the Shee Water, a popular spate salmon and brown trout river, the fields and lower hillside dotted with sheep, to the purple heather covered upper slopes of Mount Blair, often white with snow in the winter. Watch the birds and wildlife that we encourage at Dalnoid, including red squirrels, stoats, roe deer, woodpeckers, siskins, gold finches, jays, owls, birds of prey and many more.
On colder days you can relax in front of the wood burning stove, on warm summer mornings enjoy breakfast on the elevated deck platform as the sun rises over Mount Blair, or light up the barbecue and enjoy an al fresco meal in the evening.
The kitchen area benefits from all mod-cons to make your holiday as relaxing as possible, including a dish-washer, washing machine and microwave. It is very well equipped so if you want to stay in and ‘self-cater’ you will find everything you need.
For those who would prefer to enjoy some of the high quality local produce – venison, pheasant, partridge, grouse, salmon and trout, as well as some of the juiciest strawberries and raspberries around there are several good pubs and restaurants within a few miles drive. Taxis can be arranged for those wishing to enjoy a ‘wee dram’ from the many local distilleries on Deeside and in Highland Perthshire.
The cottage, which sleeps four, has a spacious king-size room with ensuite shower-room, perfect for that romantic get-away, as well as a twin bedded room, and a main bathroom with shower.
New Steading Cottage, has an under floor heating system which provides heating and hot water throughout the year. This is driven by heat from the ground via ground source heat pumps – providing a more sustainable holiday environment.
Sorry, but dogs are not accepted in New Steading Cottage, but we are happy for you to bring your pet and stay in our other cottage – Old Steading Cottage. For the comfort of other guests, we do not allow smoking within the cottages.
