Cairnie Fruit Farm & Mega Maze

If you are visiting us in the summer, then the Cairnie Fruit Farm makes a great day out. The Farm is open to visitors from March through August. If you want to explore the maze, you will need to wait for July when the maze opens. During the summer the farm is open every day of the week, from 10 am until 5 pm.

You can bring dogs to the farm, but they are not allowed in the maze or fruit picking areas. There is free parking on site. There is a café serving up plenty of tasty treats, but you are very welcome to bring your own food and make use of the picnic spots.

The farm shop gives you the opportunity to take home some of the wonderful fruit grown on the farm. You can get fresh fruit or the farm’s speciality line of fruit vinegars and syrups. Along with the fruit products, there are lots of local seasonal veg and freshly-baked bread. There is also a section with toys for the kids as well as gifts and cards.

Pick Your Own Fruit

There are 45 acres of the farm dedicated to growing delicious fruit. Why not wander through the fields and pick a selection of your own fruit? Choose from strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, gooseberries, tayberries, cherries, brambles, pumpkins and even sunflowers.

You are welcome to wander through the fruit fields, even if you don’t want to pick any fruit. You only pay for what you pick.

Children’s Activities

Each year six acres of the farm are turned over to grow maize. This maize is then artfully crafted into a themed maze. Past mazes have included a sea turtle, Darth Vader and the BFG. When the maze opens in July, the maize is around 4 ft tall. As the season wears on, it will reach over 8 feet.

As well as the maze there is the exciting fun yard. There are plenty of fun activities to keep the kids entertained. Some of the highlights are the go-kart track and the sunken trampolines. Don’t forget to have a ride on the four-wheel-drive ATV Barrel Bug Ride too.
