Just 3 miles away, the Persie
Gin Distillery produces a range of small-batch, hand-crafted gins on site. They have
recently added a vodka to their range and are working on a whisky.

Distilleries Near Dalnoid
No trip to the Scottish Highlands is complete without a visit to a Scotch whisky distillery.
While staying at Dalnoid, you have several to pick from:
Bells' Blair Athol Distillery
The Bell’s Distillery in Blair is one of the oldest distilleries in Scotland. The distillery
is located in the town of Pitlochry, which is about a 35-minute drive from Dalnoid. The
distillery uses water from the Allt Dour which flows from the slopes of Ben Vrackie. It is
this that the distillery claims gives its whiskeys their distinctive finish and mellow
flavour.
The distillery offers a range of different tours, each with different whiskeys to taste. If
you just want a standard tour you can turn up on the day and join a tour, no problem. Just
make sure to turn up a least one hour before closing time. If however, you consider yourself a
connoisseur, then you may want to investigate the different options available so that you can
make the most of your visit.
Royal Lochnagar Distillery
If you are planning a visit to Balmoral Castle, then you might want to make a stop off at the
Royal Lochnagar Distillery which is only a mile from the castle. Nestled at the foot of the
Cairngorm mountains it’s about a 50 mins drive from Dalnoid.
The distillery is set in the beautiful countryside of Aberdeenshire and is a lovely area to
visit. The distillery has an attached visitor centre which will give you the chance to learn
everything there is to know about distilling whiskey.
This distillery has a range of tours to offer to suit anyone. If you are going to be arriving
in a group of more than four people, you should book in advance. This will ensure you can all
be on the same tour.
The Glenturret Distillery
If you want a nice drive through the countryside, then 1 hour 20 mins away from Dalnoid will
find you at the Glenturret distillery, formerly the home of the Famous Grouse Experience.
Although Famous Grouse no longer own the distillery, the distillery tour is still one of the
best in Scotland. You can book a place on one of the hourly tours up to two days before your
arrival. Or you can sign up for the next available slot on your arrival. As well as checking
out the distillery you can also get a great meal here. It is definitely worth the trip.
