Whilst staying at Dalnoid, you will find that all of our properties are very well equipped for self-catering, but equally there are some delightful pubs/restaurants and tea rooms to try nearby if you decide to go out. Using locally sourced food wherever possible to ensure that you have an enjoyable experience, some of our favourites places to eat out are:
Glenisla Hotel, Kirkton of Glenisla - this old coaching inn in the Angus Glens retains its charm and original character. Lunches, high tea and dinner served daily
Farquharson's , Braemar - offering a varied menu to reflect their love of Scotland, they are open daily from 11am - 11pm for coffees, drinks, lunch & dinner
The Angus Hotel, Blairgowrie - a varied menu offering a good selection of meals throughout the day from breakfast to dinners along with drinks. They do have entertainment some weekends also.
Strathmore Golf Club, nr Alyth - this modern clubhouse has beautiful views along the Vale of Strathmore. Home-cooked food served all day, including Thursday steak night and Sunday carvery
The Fife Arms, Braemar - this unique venue offers a range of dining options, whether you visit the Flying Stag for a bar meal, The Drawing Room for afternoon tea, Elsa's art-deco cocktail bar, or The Clunie Dining Room for a dinner experience to remember
If you don't want to venture out for a meal, or visit the supermarket, then pop into the on-site Dalnoid Honesty Shop instead. We stock a great range of ready meals, desserts and sweet treats.
For more informal tea and cakes, some of the best tea rooms around are:
Glenshee Tea Room - This tea room, visitor centre & gift shop is just 3/4 mile up the road from Dalnoid. Pop in for some home baking or a light lunch. Friendly and informal, the log fire will be burning on chillier days and your scone will be warmed in the Aga!
The Bothy, Braemar - tearoom with a great choice for lunches or snacks
If you want the full 'Afternoon Tea' experience, then try:
The Fife Arms(see above) or
The Carriage, Ballater - British classics and seasonal homemade dishes served at the newly restored Old Royal Station in Ballater - must be pre-booked
