We are within easy driving distance of Pitlochry, Blair Atholl, Braemar, Ballater, Perth, Dundee and St Andrew’s. The cities of Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Inverness are also perfect locations for a day trip either by car or train.
A number of Scotland's iconic castles are within an hour's drive: Balmoral Castle, Braemar Castle, Glamis Castle, Scone Palace and Blair Castle.
The A93, "Scotland's Snow Road" is the highest A-Road in the UK and passes by Dalnoid as it connects the market town of Blairgowrie with Royal Deeside and onto Speyside. This scenic route passes both the Glenshee and Lecht Ski Centres, and has three architect-designed art installations at Glenshee, Corgarff and Tomintoul, which showcase the stunning views in unusual ways!
The scenery of the lower glen is very much associated with hill farming and throughout the year you will see sheep, highland cows and deer dotted over the hillsides. In the late summer the hills and moors take a purple hue as the heather comes into flower, before the snowfalls of winter.
Dalnoid Cottages & Treehouses are approximately 20 minutes drive from the Glenshee Ski Centre and unlike other parts of Britain, the local council in Perthshire do an excellent job in keeping the road clear of snow except in all but the most severe weather conditions!
