Summer At The Glenshee Ski Centre

Glenshee might be famed as being an amazing ski resort, but it offers so much to experience all year round. During the summer, the ski centre is still a popular visitor attraction. Glenshee is the largest ski centre in the UK and is just 20 minutes from Dalnoid Cottages And Treehouses.

So, what makes Glenshee a great day out during the warmer months? Its spectacular location is perfect for enjoying the stunning scenery and wonder of the surrounding area, which truly comes to life during the summer.

Glenshee Ski Centre keep their chairlift running throughout the warmer months. Despite the lack of snow, the lift can be used to explore the beauty of Cairnwell and surrounding areas. The chairlift takes visitors right to the summit of Cairnwell, saving a steep trek and offering magnificent views on the journey.

From the summit, three different Munros can be reached, and there are plenty of different routes and trails to explore on a pleasant summer’s day. The area is also home to a lot of interesting wildlife during the warmer months, including red deer, hares and grouse.

Visitors have the choice of getting a one-way ticket on the chairlift, so you can travel up and hike back down, or vice versa. A return journey in the summer costs £10 for an adult or £25 for a family. A single trip is £6 for adults and £17 for families.

The Shee Café

The Glenshee Ski Centre has its very own café which is also open throughout the summer from 8.30 am to 4.45 pm. It is an excellent spot for a bite to eat and a refreshing drink after exploringCairnwell. The café has become part of a popular route for motorbike clubs and car rallies who make the most of the stunning area during the summer. Many car fanatics take to A93 Braemer Road as it is the highest A road in the country.
